Sergio Melgoza
Vineyard Manager
Sergio Melgoza, a highly skilled and dedicated vineyard manager, is an invaluable asset to the Grigsby Vineyard team. It is often said, and there is no exaggeration that Sergio knows every vine on the Grigsby Vineyard intimately.
With over thirty years of experience in vineyard management, Sergio has a deep knowledge of viticulture and a genuine love and respect for the land. Born with a natural affinity for agriculture, Sergio developed a passion for vineyard management early in his life. Over the years, he has honed his expertise and refined his techniques through hands-on experience.
Today Sergio acts as a steward of the Grigsby Vineyard, managing our wonderful small family based team who’s skillful dedication allows us to create wines with a true sense of place. If you look closely, you might spy Sergio on each Grigsby label!

Our experienced vineyard team carefully oversee every aspect of grape cultivation, from planting and pruning to canopy management and harvest.
With a deep understanding of our unique microclimate, soil composition, and grape varietals, they ensure that our vines thrive and produce the highest quality fruit.
We take enormous pride in the collective efforts of Sergio, Arcelia, Fredy, Francisco, Margarita, Ernesto, Jaime, Maria Elena, Christian, and Juan Carlos - as we always say, great wines start in the vineyard.
